PRAYER: Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents 1 to 3 to register a FIR based on the petitioner's complaint dated 05.08.2017 and investigate the same in accordance with law, within the time frame fixed by this Court.

Heard the learned counsel for the writ petitioner, learned Government Advocate for the respondents 1 to 3, learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the fourth respondent and the learned counsel appearing for the fifth respondent. 2.The grievance of the petitioner is that his complaint that the fifth respondent, the Executive Officer of Antipatti Town Panchayat, had obtained pecuniary advantage in the matter of purchasing electrical out fits for the Panchayat, dated 05.08.2017 https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

addressed to the Director, Directorate of Vigilance and Anti Corruption, was returned without registering and investigating the case.

3.From the record this Court finds that the first respondent after perusing the complaint of the writ petitioner, had directed him to approach the Ombudsman, Tamil Nadu Local Bodies, since the matter relates to a public servant of the local bodies. Earlier this Court directed the learned Additional Public Prosecutor to verify as to whether the said Ombudsman is functioning as on date. 4.Today, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor would submit that the Tamil Nadu Local Bodies Ombudsman is functioning at No.100, Anna Salai, Guindy, Chennai by Dr.S.Ayyar, IAS(R). 5.In the light of the above fact, the writ petitioner is hereby directed to forward his complaint to the Ombudsman as stated above. With this direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
