ORDER

This Writ Petition is filed to direct the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 28.11.2018 for compensation under the victim compensation scheme. 2.It is the case of the petitioner that his wife, namely, Selvi, was a coolie worker and was working under the Mahatma Gandhi Rural Employment Scheme. On 12.06.2017, during the work, due to the negligence on the part of the co-workers, the petitioner's wife / Selvi met with a fire accident, due to which, she sustained burn injuries throughout her body and dead. In this regard, the petitioner made a representation dated 28.11.2018, before the 2nd respondent for compensation under the victim compensation scheme. 3.Though the aforesaid representation dated 28.11.2018, has been forwarded by the 2nd respondent to the 3rd respondent for taking https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

W.P.(MD)No.14975 of 2019 appropriate action, so far, no action has been taken. Hence, the petitioner is before this Court for the relief stated supra. 4.In reply, the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents would submit that the petitioner's representation dated 28.11.2018, would be considered on merits and in accordance with law, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court. 5.In view of the submission made by the learned Government Advocate and having regard to the limited scope of the prayer made by the petitioner, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, directs the 3rd respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 28.11.2018, on merits and in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after providing opportunities to the petitioner.

6.This Writ Petition is disposed of, with the above direction. No costs.
