This Writ Petition is filed for Mandamus directing the respondents 4 and 5 to grant permission for conducting "Sri Mariyammakovil Thiruvila" 2/6
situated at Kariyur Street, Adiramapattinam, Pattukottai Taluk, Thanjavur District and consequently direct the respondents 4 and 5 to consider the writ petitioner's representation dated 10.05.2024 within the time stipulated by this Court.
2. When the matter is taken up for hearing today, the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondents 1 to 5 submitted that there are two groups and there are clashes among the groups and each groups is claiming to conduct the festival and hence, the respondents 1 to 5 submitted that it is difficult to allow the parties to conduct the festival. He further submitted that proceedings under Section 107 Cr.P.C. is also pending before the second respondent.
3. Since there are 2 groups seeking permission to conduct the festival on the same day and the proceedings under Section 107 Cr.P.C. is also pending before the second respondent, the second respondent is directed to call both the parties and conduct peace committee meeting and direct one group to conduct the festival on one day and another group on another day. If needed, a lot may be drawn to assign who can conduct the festival first. 3/6
4. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
