ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by R.N.MANJULA, J.) The prayer in the writ petition is for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 1st respondent to instruct the 2nd respondent to consider the representation sent by the petitioner dated 02.05.2024, seeking emergency leave of 21 days for the petitioner's husband Jeyamari, son of Murugesan, who is a convict prisoner confined at Madurai Prison. 2.
Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is the wife of the prisoner. The first death anniversary of the prisoner's father falls on 03.06.2024 and therefore, the prisoner's presence on that date is very much required to perform rituals as a son in connection with his father's death anniversary ceremony. Apart from that, for partition of ancestral properties of the prisoner and to redeem the pledged jewels in the bank, the prisoner is required emergency leave. Hence, the petitioner made a representation dated 02.05.2024, to the respondents seeking 21 days emergency leave to the prisoner. However, the same has not, till date, been considered. Hence, this writ petition.

Mr.RMS.Sethuraman, learned Additional Public Prosecutor who takes notice for the respondents, submits that the representation of the petitioner dated 02.05.2024, will be considered and appropriate orders will be passed within a time frame.

Recording the above submission made by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, this Writ Petition is disposed by directing the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 02.05.2024 and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, within a week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
