of Mr.K.PRABHU, Advocate for M/S.KUMARAVEL.K, Advocate for the petitioner and of Mr.A.THIRUVADI KUMAR, Additional Public Prosecutor on behalf of the Respondent, the Court made the following order:- [Order of the Court was made by A.D.JAGADISH CHANDIRA, J.] The petitioner, who is a life convict and whose right leg below knee has been amputated due to femoropopliteal arterial occlusive disease due to diabetes, was earlier granted interim bail for a period of two months from 09.01.2024 to 08.03.2024 and it has been further extended in Crl.M.P.(MD). No.3106 of 2024 on 15.03.2024 for a period of 60 days. The petitioner has filed this application for extension of interim bail.
2. The petitioner is produced before this Court on a wheel chair today.
3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is aged about 67 years and he is suffering from diabetes and other health conditions. He would further submit that the petitioner's right leg has been amputated and his wound has not healed fully. Further, the Doctor, who has treated him, has opined that regular dressing and care has to be taken for the wound 2/4
for rehabilitation and if the petitioner is sent to jail at this juncture, it would interrupt with his treatment and thereby, would seek for extension of interim bail.
4. In view of the above, this Criminal Miscellaneous Petition is allowed and the interim bail granted to the petitioner and extended by this Court is further extended for a period of two (2) months.
