ORDER

The petitioner has filed the present Writ Petition, to direct the first respondent to pass appropriate orders on his representation, dated 15.03.2021 by instructing the second respondent to send the pension proposals to the Accountant General, Chennai.

2.Mr.P.Subbaraj, learned Government Advocate, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.

3.By consent of both parties, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself. 4.According to the petitioner, he was working as Deputy Superintendent of Police (Railways), Madurai and his date of superannuation was on 31.03.2016. But, the petitioner was not allowed to retire and he was placed under suspension, vide order, 1/3

dated 31.03.2016. Challenging the same, the petitioner filed a Writ Petition in W.P(MD)No.6281 of 2016 and this Court, by order, dated 15.02.2021, closed the Writ Petition on the ground that the chargememo was dropped and he was permitted to retire from service. Seeking retirement benefits, the petitioner sent a representation, dated 15.03.2021, to the respondents. So far no action has been taken. Hence, the petitioner has come out with the present Writ Petition.

5.The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents submitted that the representation of the petitioner, dated 15.03.2021 would be considered on merits within the period stipulated by this Court.

6.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents. 7.Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, without deciding the issue on merits, it is suffice to direct the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 15.03.2021 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

8.With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
