PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to take appropriate legal action against the illegal sand quarry being carried out beyond permissible limit in survey number 567 situated at Vasudevanallur, Periyakulam, Tirunelveli District on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 27.06.2019 within the time stipulated by this Court.

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by S.M.SUBRAMANIAM, J.) The Writ of Mandamus has been instituted to direct the respondents to take appropriate legal action against the illegal sand quarry being carried out beyond permissible limit in survey number 567 situated at Vasudevanallur, Periyakulam, Tirunelveli District.

2. The learned Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1,2,4 & 5, on instructions, would submit that as of now there is no gravel sand quarry has been carried out in Survey No.567 situated at Vasudevanallur, Periyakulam, Tirunelveli District and Tenkasi District. If at all any illegal quarrying operations are identified by the authorities or received any information, the authorities are bound to prosecute the offenders in the manner known to law.

3. In view of the submission made by the learned Government Pleader, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
