PRAYER : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to take appropriate actions to remove the encroachments made by private individuals around the Kannan Kovil and Muthumariamman Kovil in the lands belonging to the said temples bearing Survey Nos.479/10 and 480/1 respectively situated in Mullikulam, Thalaivankottai Village, Kadayanallur Taluk, Tenkasi District by considering the petitioner's representation dated 12.08.2020.

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by S.M.SUBRAMANIAM, J.) The writ on hand has been instituted to direct the respondents to take appropriate action to remove the encroachments made by private 2/6

individuals around Kannan Kovil and Muthumariamman Kovil in the lands belonging to the said temples bearing Survey Nos.479/10 and 480/1 respectively situated in Mullikulam, Thalaivankottai Village, Kadayanallur Taluk, Tenkasi District, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 12.08.2020.

2.The learned Special Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondents submitted that action has already been initiated to remove the encroachments under the relevant provisions of the Act. 3.In view of the said submission, the fourth respondent is directed to complete the enforcement actions by following the procedures as contemplated under the Act and Rules and to remove the encroachments within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4.With the above directions, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
