ORDER

This writ petition is filed seeking a direction to the 2nd respondent to take appropriate action and dispose the petitioner's complaint dated 05.04.2026 and provide adequate police protection.

2. Considering the limited scope of the relief sought for, notice to private respondents is dispensed with.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that the respondents 3 to 5 are his brothers. The petitioner has organized his daughter's puberty function on 12.04.2026. It is a customary practice of the families in Kanyakmari to honor the deceased elders by garlanding the graveyard before conducting any family function. However, surprisingly, the respondents 3 to 5 who are none other than the petitioner's siblings are hindering the petitioner from completing the said formality. The petitioner has lodged a complaint on 05.04.2026, seeking adequate police protection for fencing his property comprised in Survey No.181/5, Valvachagostam Village. However, when the matter came up for hearing, the learned counsel for the petitioner limiting his prayer that he may be permitted to visit his parents' graveyard before the occasion of his daughter's puberty function and sought for the indulgence of 2/4

this Court.

4. Heard the learned counsel on either side and carefully perused the materials available on record.

The 2nd respondent is directed to afford necessary police protection to the petitioner along with 10 persons of his family, to visit his parents' graveyard situated at Survey No.181/5, Valvachagostam Village on 12.04.2026 between 8.00 a.m to 9.00 a.m., and garland the graveyard. It is made clear that the police protection is afforded only for the purpose of facilitating the petitioner to visit his parents' graveyard. The petitioner is directed to pay the necessary charges in terms of G.O(Ms)No.139, Home (Pol-VIII) Department, dated 04.03.2019 for the purpose of extending police protection.

6. With the above directions, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
