Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents. 1/3

2.The petitioner wants permission to install the statue of Maveeran Alagumuthu Kone at the petition mentioned site. 3.The learned Additional Government Pleader informed the Court that the very same request made by the petitioner earlier was already rejected. The petitioner has not chosen to question the said order of rejection. Be that as it may, in the site mentioned by the petitioner, the respondents are proposing to install only the statue of Kabadi Player. In other words, in the site, there will not be installation of any statue of any political leader or religious or communal leader. The statue depicting the Kabadi Player is secular and it can appeal to all sections of the people. 4.Recording the said submission of the learned Additional Government Pleader, this writ petition is closed.

The petitioner is of-course at liberty to make an appropriate request to the authority for locating the statue of Maveeran Alagumuthu Kone in any other alternative place. If such request is made, the same will be considered on merits and in accordance with law. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
