ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking a writ of mandamus directing the respondent to allow the petitioner to withdraw a sum of Rs.7,00,000/- from and out of his own accumulation of Provident Fund Contribution and available with the respondent for the purpose 1/4

of marriage of his daughter, within the time limit that may be stipulated by this Court.

When the matter is taken up for consideration, Mr.Ferline Castro, learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent fairly submitted that the application submitted the petitioner has been considered and it was concluded that the petitioner is entitled for an amount Rs.5,21,400/- and the same would be released in favour of the petitioner within a period of four weeks.

Taking into consideration the fact that there is no dispute about the entitlement of the petitioner for withdrawal of the abovesaid amount, this Court is not inclined to grant four weeks time to the respondent for releasing the said amount as the marriage of the petitioner's daughter is scheduled to take place on 28.05.2026.

In the light of the above, this Court is of the considered view that it is not proper on the part the respondents to withhold the entitled amount of the petitioner, which is sought to be withdrawn for performing the marriage of the petitioner's daughter.As the marriage is scheduled to take place on 28.05.2026, the respondent is directed 2/4

to release an amount of Rs.5,21,400/- within a period of ten days from today, without fail.
