ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by S.M.SUBRAMANIAM,J.) The relief sought for in the present Writ Petition is to direct the first respondent to correct the illegal entries in the school certificate and consequently, consider the petitioner's representation dated 13.02.2023.
2. It is not in dispute that the petitioner has completed his school education long before in the year 1976. Subsequently, the Matriculation Higher Secondary School issued a transfer certificate, recording the personal details of the petitioner's son. The secondary school cumulative record book issued by the Director of School Education also reveals that the petitioner belongs to "Hindu Vadugan" community. However, the matriculation school certificate issued in favour of the son of the writ petitioner reveals that he belongs to "Kattunaiken" community. But, the said entry is made by a private matriculation higher secondary school, namely, Mary Ann Matriculation Higher Secondary School. If at all any corrections are to be made, it has to be done strictly in consonance with the statutes and rules in force.

The petitioner completed his SSLC in the year 1982 and after a lapse of so many years, this Court cannot issue any direction to correct the entries made in the school records regarding the personal details and the community details provided. Since the relief sought for is to direct the respondents to correct the entries in the school certificate, we are not inclined to entertain the Writ Petition on account of efflux of time and further on the ground that contradictory details are provided by the petitioner, on perusal of the certificates of the petitioner and the certificates issued in favour of the children of the writ petitioner.
4. Accordingly, the Writ Petition stands dismissed. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition stands closed.
