This writ petition has been filed seeking, a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to grant permission to perform the program of Adal Padal on 07.08.2018 in connection with temple Festival at Arulmigu Sri Muthumariamman Thirukkovil is situated at Parukkaividuthi, Mohanoor Post, Kandarvakottai Taluk, Pudukkottai District and to provide adequate police protection based on the petitioner's representations dated 31.07.2018. 2.This Court on an earlier occasion had passed the following order in a similar writ petition.
There is no custom or tradition or ritual to organise 'Adal Padal' Programme in any religious festivals. Religious festivals are meant to upgrade the mankind and to make cordiality and harmony between the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
villagers. But by conducting this 'Adal Padal' Programme that too at midnight so many unwanted activities are taking place which causes law and order problem in the village. As 'Adal Padal' Programme are not customary in any religion, as this programme are not our traditional programmes and as this programmes causes law and order problem, this Court is not inclined to grant any permission for this programme. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is dismissed. No costs. 3.There is no necessity to digress from the view already taken by this Court and this Court deems it fit to maintain a consistency in passing orders in cases of this nature. 4.Accordingly, this writ petition is dismissed.
