O R D E R

The petitioner, with a grievance that the respondent police is harassing him under the guise of an enquiry has approached this Court.

2. Today(17.04.2026), when this Criminal Original Petition is taken up for admission, Mr.R.Meenakshi Sundaram, learned Additional Public Prosecutor takes notice for the respondents 1 & 2 and submits that they have treated the complaint, which was received as against the petitioner as a current paper enquiry and found that the issue is with regard to money dispute and therefore, they have closed the complaint.

3.It is very unfortunate that the respondent police are still entertaining the complaints of civil in nature, when this Court has passed repeated orders about the role of the police officers in the civil disputes. Most of these complaints are entertained only through the Superintendent of Police and it is very sorry state of affairs that some of the Officers are functioning as post office, by simply forwarding the 2/4

complaints received by them, without even looking into the nature of complaints.

4.Since it is reported that the complaint received as against this petitioner has been closed as it is a money dispute, this Criminal Original Petition is closed.
