PRAYER: Habeas Corpus Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue a Writ of Habeas Corpus, directing the respondents to produce the petitioner's minor daughter namely, Megala, aged about 17 years, either in person or body, before this Court and thereupon handover the custody to the petitioner.

*********** [Order of the Court was made by P.N.PRAKASH, J.] It is the case of the petitioner that her daughter, Megala, aged about 17 years, went missing from 08.06.2022 and that the police are not taking effective steps to secure her, the petitioner has filed the present Habeas Corpus Petition with the above prayer.
2. Heard Mr.G.Rajasekaran, learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.T.Senthil Kumar, learned Additional Public Prosecutor, who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents. Page No.2 of 6
3.Today Mr.P.Periyamani [Mobile No.9498158458], Sub Inspector of Police, Uppiliyapuram Police Station, is present before this Court.

On instructions, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the petitioner made arrangements for getting Megala married even before she attained majority to one Karthick on 06.02.2022. Coming to know of this, the Child Help Line officials intervened and stopped the marriage and thereafter, Megala was with the petitioner. Now, it is alleged that Megala went missing from the house of the petitioner on 08.06.2022. On the complaint given by the petitioner, a case, in Uppiliyapuram Police Station, in Crime No.155/2022 has been registered on 11.06.2022 for 'girl missing'.

In such circumstances, we direct the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Musiri, to supervise the investigation that is being conducted by the Inspector of Police, Uppiliyapuram Police Station in Crime No.155 of 2022 and keep the petitioner informed of the developments, if any. As and when the detenu Megala, aged about 17 years, is secured, she shall be produced before the learned Judicial Magistrate, Thuraiyur, under intimation to the Page No.3 of 6
petitioner. On such production, the learned Magistrate shall pass appropriate orders with regard to the custody in accordance with law.
