The writ petitioner filed this Writ Petition seeking for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to grant permission and necessary protection to conduct the Adal Padal Programme on 01.05.2023 at about 10.00 p.m., in connection with festival in Arulmigu Sri Adaikalamkatha Ayyanar Temple at Pukkarambai, Thillankadu Village, Thanjavur District by considering the petitioner's representation dated 25.04.2023.
2. Mr.R.Suresh Kumar, learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) takes notice for the respondents. By consent, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
3. The learned Government Advocate(Crl.side) appearing for the respondents would submit that two rival groups are performing the above 2/5
said festival. Both of them individually filed representations seeking permission to conduct the festival on the very same day itself. Because of the rivalry between the two groups, they advised to arrange the event jointly on the same day, but both of them are not willing. On the basis of the rivalry, there is an apprehension of breach of peace. Hence, the representation has been rejected by an order dated 26.04.2023.
4. Let the paper be served on the petitioner. Since the representation of the petitioner was rejected vide order dated 26.04.2023, this Writ Petition has become infructuous. No costs. 28.04.2023 NCC :Yes/No Index :Yes/No Internet : Yes/ No pnn To 3/5
