JUDGMENT
[Judgment of the Court was delivered by J.NISHA BANU, J.] This Writ Appeal is directed against the order dated 14.02.2025 made in W.P.(MD)No.21223 of 2023.
2.The appellant / writ petitioner has filed the said Writ Petition, seeking for a direction to the respondents 1 to 6 to initiate appropriate criminal action as against the respondents 7 and 8 and other police officials and to provide a compensation of Rs.25,00,000/- for the illegal custody and extortion committed by the Police Officials on the basis of his representations dated 29.07.2023 and 19.08.2023.
3.The Writ Court, after hearing both sides, dismissed the said Writ Petition, stating that the writ petitioner has not placed any materials to substantiate his case. Challenging the same, the writ petitioner has filed this Writ Appeal.
4.Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the materials available on record.
5.On perusal of the impugned order passed by the Writ Court, we are of the considered opinion that the Writ Court has rightly dismissed the case of the writ petitioner. Further, since the writ petitioner is seeking compensation for the illegal custody, he has to approach the competent civil forum for appropriate relief. In such view of the matter, finding no infirmity in the order passed by the Writ Court, this Writ Appeal is dismissed. No costs.
