O R D E R
(Order of the Court was made by S.M.SUBRAMANIAM, J.) The relief sought for in the present Writ Petition is to quash the provisional list for selection to the direct recruitment of the post of Junior Training Officer (2014-2015), published on 27.11.2018 by the 2nd respondent and consequently to direct the respondents to consider the name of the petitioner in the provisional list for the selection to the direct recruitment of the post of Junior Training Officer as per the marks secured by the petitioner in the preliminary and main examination.
2. Admittedly, the petitioner participated in the process of selection to the post of Junior Training Officer (Automobile). 2/4
3. Learned counsel for the petitioner mainly contended that the petitioner is falling under BC (General) category and the appointment order was issued to the candidates who have secured lower mark than the petitioner.
4. With reference to the said ground raised, learned Additional Advocate General clarified by stating that the petitioner scored 57.0 marks in the selection. However, three candidates have scored marked in the range between 76.8 and 76.2 and two candidates have scored marks in the range between 74.4 and 74.0 and the petitioner will not fall within the zone of consideration since the other candidates have secured more marks.
5. For all these reasons, the Writ Petition stands dismissed. No costs. Consequently, connected Writ Miscellaneous Petitions are closed. (S.M.S., J.) & (V.L.N., J.) 07.12.2023 NCC : Yes / No Index : Yes / No SJ 3/4
