PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a writ of mandamus directing the Debt Recovery Tribunal, Madurai, to expedite the proceedings S.A.No.369 of 2021 pending on its file either by itself or by placing it before the Debts Recovery Tribunal, Coimbatore (in-charge of DRT, Madurai) and dispose the same within a reasonable time period to be determined by this Court.

[Order of the Court was made by R.SUBRAMANIAN, J.] Prayer in this writ petition reads as follows: "For the reasons stated in the accompanying affidavit it is prayed that this Hon'ble court may be pleased to issue a Writ of MANDAMUS to direct the Debt Recovery Tribunal, Madurai, to expedite the proceedings S.A.No.369 of 2021 pending on its file either by itself or by placing it before the Hon'ble Debts Recovery Tribunal, Coimbatore (in-charge of DRT, Madurai) and dispose the same within a reasonable time period to be determined by this Hon'ble Court and pass such further or other orders as this Hon'ble Court may deem fit and proper in the above facts and circumstances of this case and thus render justice."

2. Considering the limited prayer sought for, the writ petition is disposed of at the admission stage itself and since we are not passing orders on the merits of the case, notice to the respondents is deemed unnecessary.

3. The writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the Debts Recovery Tribunal, Madurai, to dispose of S.A.No.369 of 2021, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs. [R.S.M., J.] [L.V.G., J.] 28.04.2023 NCC :
