ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by S.M.SUBRAMANIAM, J.) The writ of mandamus has been instituted to direct the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 16.11.2018. The Joint 3/7
Commissioner of Hindu Religious & Charitable Endowments Department filed a counter statement showing action taken report which reveals that certain works have already been undertaken and further actions are initiated for removal of encroachments.
2. It is needless to state that the Competent Authorities under the Hindu Religious & Charitable Endowments Act, 1959 is bound to protect the temple properties and utilize the same for the benefit of the temple under (HR & CE) Act. Since, the petitioner has raised several complaints, the respondents are directed to look into the nature of allegations and initiate appropriate actions to protect the property which belongs to the temple and deal with the same in accordance with the provisions of the Acts and Rules.
