The petitioner seeks issuance of writ of mandamus to direct the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation, dated 24.07.2024 seeking correction of the petitioner's mother's name in the patta.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader for the respondents.

3. According to the petitioner, the petitioner's mother's official name is Savariyayi and being called as Ponnuthaai in the family circle. The patta reflects the said personal name Ponnuthaai without even mentioning the name of the husband of the petitioner's mother i.e., the petitioner's father. In the light of the above, the petitioner has requested for necessary corrections to be carried out and made a representation on 24.07.2024.

4. In view of the above, the 2nd respondent is directed consider the petitioner's application subject to the petitioner producing satisfactory documentary evidence to substantiate that the petitioner's mother's name is Savariyayi and accordingly, carry out necessary corrections based on the petitioner's representation, dated 24.07.2024. The said exercise shall be 2/4

completed within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

5. With the above directions, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
