O R D E R

DR.G.JAYACHANDRAN., J AND R.POORNIMA.,J The Writ Petition is filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the first respondent to grant six days emergency leave without Police Escort to the Petitioner's husband namely, Mahendran, son of Chidambaram, life convict, bearing Convict Prisoner No.24829, PID NO.191183 confined at Central Prison, Trichy, for attending the marriage of his brother, which is scheduled to be held on 6.6.2025 on the basis of the Petitioner's representation, dated 4.4.2025.

2.Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials placed before this Court.

3.The Petitioner is the wife of life convict by name Mahendran.The representation for grant of six days emergency leave to attend the marriage of convict's brother is pending before the respondents since 4.4.2025.Hence the present Writ Petition seeking mandamus for the disposal of the representation. 4.Records indicates that only recently the convict was granted emergency leave for five days from 23.1.2025 to 29.1.2025 by virtue of the order passed by this Court on 22.1.2025.The representation, dated 4.4.2025 had reached the respondents on 7.4.2025 as per the Postal Tracking Report. The marriage of the Convict's brother is scheduled to be held on 6.6.2025. 5.In view of the fact that the representation is still under consideration, it is sufice to direct the respondents to consider the request and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law on or before 15.05.2025. 3/5
