Writ Petition, filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, forbearing the respondents from interfering with the peaceful possession and enjoyment of the house property comprised plot no.48 in situated in S.F.No.113/1B, 114/11 and 2 of Ariyanenthal Village, Kariyapatty Taluk, Virudhunagar District. ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by M.S.RAMESH, J.) On the ground that the petitioner has already been allotted a housing plot, under a different scheme, her request for grant of patta has been rejected by the District Adi Dravidar Welfare Officer. As against the same, an appeal lies to the Director of Adi Dravidar Welfare, Virudhunagar. 2.
The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the President of Adi Dravidar Hindu Parayar Uravin Murai Sangam has preferred an appeal on 19.07.2017, to the Director, Adi Dravidar & Tribal Welfare Department, Chennai, challenging the rejection of the petitioner's patta, as well as several other similar actions.

In our view, if the appellate authority is directed to dispose of the said appeal within a stipulated time, the ends of justice could be secured. 4.
Accordingly, the appellate authority namely, The Director, Adi Dravidar & Tribal Welfare Department, Chennai-600 005, is suo motu impleaded as the 7th respondent in this writ petition. 5.
In this background, there shall be a direction to the 7th respondent to dispose of the appeal, preferred by the President of Adi Dravidar Hindu Parayar Uravin Murai Sangam, dated 19.07.2017, as expeditiously as possible, in any event, within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Till such time a final call is taken in the appeal, the respondents shall maintain status quo, with regard to the allotment / possession of the plots. 6.
With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
