O R D E R

The petitioner seeks issuance of writ of mandamus to direct the 1st respondent to reissue the petitioner's passport which has been submitted for renewal.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the parties.

3. According to the petitioner, the renewal application is kept pending citing untenable objections. The learned counsel for the petitioner states that there since there is urgency in obtaining the passport to enable the petitioner to travel abroad, he contends that the petitioner would be satisfied, if direction is issued to the first respondent to give an opportunity to the petitioner and thereafter, consider the application for renewal of the passport.

4. In the light of the above, this writ petition is disposed of, directing the 1st respondent to afford an opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioner to clarify all the objections which according to the 1st respondent are coming in the way of renewal of the passport and after giving such opportunity to the 2/4

petitioner, the 1st respondent shall decide the petitioner's application for renewal of the passport. The said exercise shall be concluded within a period of four (4) weeks from today i.e., 09.05.2025.

5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
