ORDER

Heard the learned counsel appearing for the writ petitioners, the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the first respondent and the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the third respondent.

2. This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondents to conduct a proper survey and identify the street vendors and issue the Identity Cards to all the Street Vendors so as to enable them to conduct elections in forming the Town Ward Committee Members as per Section 22 of the Street Vendors (Protection of Livelihood and Regulation of Street Vending) Act, 2014.

3. The learned Standing Counsel states that the exercise of identifying the street vendors will be completed within a period of two months and thereafter, 2/4

Identity Cards will be issued to them. Once this process is concluded, the election for forming the Town Ward Committee will also be held thereafter. Only thereafter, the respondent Corporation can consider conducting the elections for forming the Town Ward Committee as per the Section 22 of the Street Vendors (Protection of Livelihood and Regulation of Street Vending) Act, 2014.
