The petitioner herein seeks for an permanent alternative employment in accordance with the provisions of Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 1016. The petitioner herein had suffered from kidney failure and had undergone kidney transplantation surgery.
2.Today when the matter was called, the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent, on instructions, submitted that based on the request of the petitioner, he was provided with an alternative employment on temporary basis from 12.10.2017. Thereafter, the petitioner was given an alternative employment permanently, through an office order, dated 05.10.2020. The petitioner is now working in the alternative employment in Thiruvaiyaru Banch of the Corporation. The learned Standing counsel also produced a copy of the communication received from the respondent Corporation along with the undertaking letter given by the petitioner, wherein, the petitioner herein has undertaken to withdraw the writ petition.

3. In view of the alternative employment provided, the prayer sought for in this writ petition has become infructuous. It is needless to point out that though the petitioner was given an alternative employment, he will be entitled for pay protection, continuity of service and all other attendant benefits. 4.Accordingly, this writ petition stands closed. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
