: Respondents PRAYER: Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to remove the un-authorized hoardings and flex boards put up by the political parties on celebrating Birthday of the Former Chief Minister Selvi.J.Jeyalalitha on 24.02.2019 based on the representation of the petitioner, dated 11.02.2019. O R D E R

[Order of the Court was made by T.S.SIVAGNANAM, J.] We have heard Mr.S.Balaji, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner Mr.A.K.Manickam, learned Standing Counsel for Government appearing for the respondents 1 to 4 and 6 and Mr.J.Gunaseelan Muthiah, learned counsel appearing for the fifth respondent.

2.The petitioner sought for the removal of the flex boards put up on the birthday of a political leader, which was to be celebrated on 24.02.2019.

3.The learned counsel for the fifth respondent submitted that on the same date when the writ petition was filed, the hoardings and the flex boards have been removed. 4.Therefore, the said submission is recorded and the writ petition is disposed of by directing the fifth respondent namely, the Commissioner, Melur Municipality, to ensure that no flex board hoardings or any types of hoardings is erected within the jurisdiction of the Melur Municipality, unless and until specific permission has been obtained from the competent authority. 5.Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
