[Order of the Court was made by R.SUBRAMANIAN, J.] Mr.P.Thilakkumar, learned Government Pleader, takes notice for the respondents.

2. With the consent of both sides, this writ petition is taken up for final hearing at the admission stage itself.

3. Prayer in this writ petition reads as follows:- "For the reasons stated in the accompanying affidavit it is therefore prayed that this Hon'ble Court may be pleased to issue a WRIT OF MANDAMUS or order or direction in the nature of writ directing the 1st respondent herein to issue a circular/order to close the Government TASMAC Shops and all Private Liquor Shops/Recreation Clubs within Madurai District for the period of 6 days i.e.30.04.2023 to 05.05.2023 in the event of Chithirai Festival by considering the representation given by the petitioner to 1st respondent on grievance day on 24.04.2023 within the stipulated time period that may be fixed by this Honourable Court."

4. The District Collector/the first respondent is required to consider the representation of the petitioner and take action on need basis.
