ORDER

The present writ petition has been filed to direct the respondents to grant permission and necessary protection to perform cultural programme (Adalum Padalum) scheduled to be held on 04.05.2025 in the eve of Arulmigu Sri Muthu Mariyamman Temple Festival at Madukkur North Post, Pattukottai, Thanjavur District based on the petitioner's representation dated 16.04.2025 within the time limit that may be stipulated by this Court.

2. According to the petitioner, he is one of the villagers and the President of Youth Wing. All the villagers have decided to conduct festival at Arulmigu Sri Muthu Mariyamman Temple Festival at Madukkur North Post, Pattukottai, Thanjavur District and during the festival they have decided to conduct cultural programme (Adalum Padalum) on 04.05.2025. In this regard, they have sent representation to 2/5

the respondents on 16.04.2025 but the same was not considered. Hence, this petition.

3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents would submit that they have received the representation of the petitioner and they will consider the same and take appropriate action in accordance with law.

4.This Court heard learned counsels appearing on both sides and perused the materials available on record. 5.Considering the prayer of the petitioner and the representation of the petitioner is pending with the 2nd respondent and the 2nd respondent has not taken action on the representation of the petitioner immediately, ie., within a period of 7 days, then it is deemed to be permitted by the 2nd respondent.

6.In view of the above, this Court hereby directs the 2nd respondent to provide police protection to conduct cultural programme 3/5

(Adalum Padalum) on 04.05.2025 at Arulmigu Sri Muthu Mariyamman Temple Festival at Madukkur North Post, Pattukottai, Thanjavur District, by imposing appropriate conditions, in accordance with law. The petitioner is also directed not to praise any particular community people during the event and also ensure that the programme has to be conducted without any obscene act.

7. With the above said observations and directions, this writ petition stands disposed of.
