PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the 3rd respondent to dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 20.05.2025, within a stipulated period as fixed by this Court.

ORDER

This Writ Petition is filed seeking a direction to the third respondent to dispose of the petitioner representation dated 20.05.2025, within the time stipulated by this Court.

2.Heard the arguments of Mr.M.Gangatharan, learned Government Advocate for R1 to R5 and Mr.S.S.Madhavan, learned Additional Government Pleader for R6.

3.According to the petitioner, 50 cents of lands situated at S.No.393 situated in Melapattam Village, Palayamkottai Taluk, were purchased by the petitioner from his earlier owner Pitchaikonar. On verification, it came to the knowledge of the petitioner, in the revenue records, the name of Sri Vengatachalpathi Temple was included under UDR scheme. Therefore, the petitioner submitted a representation before the official respondents on 20.05.2025, seeking deletion of the name of the Sri Vengatachalpathi Temple and the said representation has not been considered. Hence, the petitioner has 2/5

come before this Court.

4.The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would submit that as per UDR 'A' Register, 3.09.5 hectare of land in S.No.393 stands in the name of Sri Vengatachalpathi Temple and 3 others. In such circumstances, the representation submitted by the petitioner will be considered in accordance with law.

5.In view of the same, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, the third respondent is directed to forward the representation of the petitioner dated 20.05.2025, to the second respondent within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The second respondent shall consider the representation of the petitioner and pass final orders on its own merits within a further period of 12 weeks after affording opportunity to the petitioner, the 6th respondent and the person in charge of the Administration of the Sri Vengatachalpathi Temple.
