PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents No.1 to 3 to forbear the 4th respondent from illegally quarrying River Sand on the guise of quarrying of 1/4

'Savudu' in the land comprised in Survey Nos. 50/6B and adjacent lands in Kadugu Santhai Village, Kadaladi Taluk in Ramanathapuram District and consequently direct the respondents No.1 to 3 to initiate appropriate action against the offenders for the theft of Minerals.

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by S.M.SUBRAMANIAM, J.) The Writ of Mandamus has been instituted to direct the respondent Nos. 1 to 3 to forbear the 4th respondent from illegally quarrying River Sand on the guise of quarrying of 'Savudu' in the land comprised in Survey Nos. 50/6B and adjacent lands in Kadugu Santhai Village, Kadaladi Taluk in Ramanathapuram District and consequently direct the respondents No.1 to 3 to initiate appropriate action against the offenders for the theft of Minerals.

2. The learned Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 to 3, on instructions, would submit that based on the interim order passed by this Court in the writ petition, quarrying operations are entirely stopped and that apart, the 2/4

Sub-Collector, Paramakudi has initiated proceedings and imposed penalty for illegal quarrying operation. In this regard, the learned Government Pleader has produced a copy of the proceedings of the Sub-Collector, Paramakudi in Ni.Mu. (A1)/2333/2025, dated 02.05.2025.

3. In view of the above submission, there is no further adjudication is required in this matter, hence, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. (S.M.S., J.) & (A.D.M.C., J.) 26.06.2025 NCC : Yes / No Index : Yes / No am To
