The petitioners/A1 to A8 in Crime No. 287/2025, on the file of the first respondent police have moved this Petition to quash the above proceedings pending as against them, for the offence under Sections 191(2), 191(3), 296(b), 115(2), 118(1), 351(2) of BNS, 2023 and Section 4 of Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act, 2023.

2.Mr.B.Thanga Aravindh, learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side), who takes notice for the first respondent submits that the investigation in above crime number has been completed and a final report has also been filed before the Judicial Magistrate Court, Srirangam, through e-filing No.LTN 20220001528C202600029 on 10.03.2026.

3. Recording the aforesaid submission made by the learned Government Advocate (Crl.side), this Criminal Original Petition is closed. Mere filing of final report is not sufficient and it is the responsibility of the respondent police to ensure that the final report is filed without any defects and taken on file by the concerned Court within a period of one month. It is also the responsibility of the concerned Courts to take the final reports on file, if it is filed in order, within a period of two weeks.
