Respondents in both Wps COMMON PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the 1st respondent to include the petitioners' names as 2nd name and 10th name of the Madurai City C list of promotion of the SubInspector of Police in the proceedings no.RC No.163720/NGB V(2)/2018 dated 15.02.2019 based on the petitioners' representations dated 14.02.2019 within the time stipulated by this Court. For Petitioners : Mr.H.Velavadhas (in both WPs) For Respondents : Mrs.D.Farjana Ghoushia (in both WPs) Additional Government Pleader COMMON ORDER Non-inclusion of the petitioners' names in the C-list of the promotion panel, for the post of Sub-Inspector of Police are the grievances of the petitioners in these writ petitions. 2.

Today, when the matter was called, the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents produced a copy of the proceedings of the Commissioner of Police, Madurai City, dated 20.05.2019, whereby the names of the petitioners have been included in S.Nos.4 and 5 respectively. As such, the grievance of the petitioners has been met and therefore, no effective orders can be passed in the present writ petitions.

3.At this juncture, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioners submitted that the seniority of the petitioners herein have not been properly derived and that liberty may be granted to the petitioners to approach the authority seeking for revision of their seniority in the promotional panel.

4.It is needless to point out that in case the names of the petitioners have not been shown above the juniors' names in the C list, they may have a right to have it rectified and that their seniority requires to be fixed at the proper place. In this aspect, the petitioners are granted liberty to give representations to the second respondent herein seeking for revision of the seniority list and on receipt of such representations, the second respondent herein shall pass necessary orders, within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of such representations.
