The writ petitioner filed this Writ Petition seeking for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to grant permission to conduct musical programme and cultural programme in connection with the temple festival scheduled from 02.05.2023 to 08.05.2023 in Sri Kaliamman Temple situated at Thiruvengadam Village, Thiruvengadam Taluk, Tenkasi District by using loud speakers.

2. Mr. R.Sureshkumar, the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side), takes notice for the respondents. By consent, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the writ petitioner submitted that festival for the temple, by name, "Sri Kaliamman Temple situated at Thiruvengadam Village, Thiruvengadam Taluk, Tenkasi District", is going to be held on 02.05.2023 to 08.05.2023. Subsequent to the same, in order to conduct a cultural programme on 02.05.2023 to 08.05.2023, they sought permission of the Police by giving a representation dated 17.04.2023. But, the second respondent has not considered the said 2/5

representation. Since no order was passed, the writ petitioner has come before this Court for the above said relief.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the respondents would submit seven days program is arranged and the date and time may be restricted.

5. Recording the submission made by the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side), it is for the second respondent to impose restriction upon the petitioner. The restriction may be imposed by the competent authority upon the petitioner with regard to the days of programs. The above said competent authority shall be disposed of the above said representation given by the petitioner dated 17.04.2023 immediately.

6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
