ORDER

The petitioner seeks issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents 2 & 3 to grant patta in the name of the petitioner.

2. I have heard Mr.G.Mathavan, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.M.Lingadurai, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

3. It is seen that even in an earlier occasion, the petitioner approached this Court in W.P(MD)No.6824 of 2017 seeking issuance of patta. The said writ petition was ordered by this Court on 17.07.2020 directing the Tahsildar to consider the petitioner's application for patta, within a period of twelve weeks. However, it appears that in view of the extent of the property being more than the jurisdiction available to the 2/5

Tahsildar, the Tahsildar has forwarded the application of the petitioner to the Revenue Divisional Officer. Even before the third respondent, the petitioner has made an appeal petition on 10.07.2022 itself and since there has been no orders passed. Further, the representations have been given on 19.08.2024 and 24.03.2025. Really unfortunate that the petitioner has been run from pillar to post from 2017 onwards for getting patta.

4. In view of the above, the writ petition is disposed of directing the third respondent to pass final orders on the petitioner's application for patta, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
