The writ petitioner filed this Writ Petition seeking for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to grant permission and protection to conduct consecration festival (Maha Kumbabishegam) to Arulmigu Sambasivan and Parivara Theivangal situated at Kallukadai Street, Udayanadu, Umathanadu Post, Peravurani Taluk, Thanjavur District, which commences from Yagasalai Poojai on 31.05.2023, followed by consecration Maha Kumbabishega peruvizha on 01.06.2023 and cultural dance programme on 01.06.2023 at 06.00 p.m. pursuant to the petitioner's representation dated 26.04.2023.
2. Mr. B.Nambiselvan, learned Additional Public Prosecutor takes notice for the respondents 1 and 2. By consent, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor would submit that because of the above said issue between the two groups of people, a Peace Committee Meeting may be ordered.
3. The second respondent Police is present before this Court and 2/4
stated that because of the issue between the rival groups, a Peace Committee Meeting was conducted and inspite of Peace Committee Meeting, no resolution was adopted, because of difference of opinion. Now, the petitioner's parties have decided to conduct the above said Kumbabishegam festival, for which, some of the parties are not agreeing.
4. In view of the submission made by the second respondent, the above said representation that was made by the petitioner shall be enquired by second respondent by summoning the petitioner as well as the rival groups. The second respondent is directed to dispose the petitioner's representation immediately. Depending upon the outcome of the above said enquiry, the petitioner is at liberty to workout his remedy through appropriate proceedings, if so aggrieved.
5. With the above direction, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
