Prayer: This Criminal Original Petition filed under Section 482 Cr.P.C. to direct the respondents to file the final report in Crime.No.656 of 2013 on the file of the Inspector of Police, West Police Station, Thanjavur District within three weeks. ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the respondents to file the final report in Crime.No.656 of 2013 on the file of the Inspector of Police, West Police Station, Thanjavur District within three weeks.

2.By consent of both side, this criminal original petition is taken up for final disposal.

3.Wherever any information is relation to the commission of cognizable offence or non cognizable offence received, the police officer shall adhere to the procedure contemplated under Sections and Cr.P.C and after conducting necessary enquiry/investigation, file final report under Section 173 Cr.P.C. Such investigation under Chapter -XII Cr.P.C shall be completed without any unnecessary delay. The delay in filing the final report in the present case is inordinate and unjustified. Therefore, it would be appropriate to direct the first respondent to file the final report within a stipulated time, if it is not already filed. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

4.Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, this Court directs the first respondent to complete the investigation in Crime No.656 of 2013 pending on the file of the Inspector of Police, West Police Station, Thanjavur District and file the final report within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5.With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
