ORDER
The present Writ Petition has been filed for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the second respondent to survey the petitioner's property in Survey No. 224/26, to an extent of 0.00.64 Ares, situated at Kinnimangalam Revenue Village, Thirumangalam Taluk, Madurai District, and to demarcate its four boundaries, and consequently, to direct the fourth respondent to provide adequate police protection for conducting the survey and putting up iron fencing, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 20.03.2026.
2. The petitioner is claiming right over the land in Survey No. 224/26 to an extent of 0.00.64 Ares and patta was also granted in the name of the petitioner in Patta No. 997. The said land was assigned under the free patta scheme. Thereafter, the petitioner has been in peaceful possession and enjoyment of the property. 2/5
However, the fifth respondent is allegedly interfering with the petitioner's possession. The petitioner further submits that the official respondents had already surveyed the property and erected survey stones. However, the fifth respondent high-handedly removed the same who is a "law violater"
3. In view of the above, the second respondent/Tahsildar is directed to survey the property afresh and erect survey stones. If the second respondent / Tahsildar requires police protection, the same shall be provided by the fourth respondent. Removal of survey stones is an offence. In the event that the fifth respondent removes the survey stone in future, the petitioner is at liberty to submit a complaint to the second respondent/Tahsildar, who, in turn, shall lodge a complaint with the fourth respondent. The said exercise shall be completed within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
4. With the above directions, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
