PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the 4th respondent to rectify the UDR mistake crept in and issue patta in the name of the petitioner in respect of the property comprised in S.No. 162 to an extent of 1680 sq.ft. situated at Kundalakuthur village, Sathur Taluk, Virudhunagar District, based on petitioner's representation dated 29.03.2025 For Petitioner : Mr.K.V.Raja Rajan For Respondents : Mr.B.Saravanan Additional Government Pleader
ORDER
The petitioner seeks issuance of writ of mandamus, to direct the fourth respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 29.03.2025, regarding correction in the UDR register and to consequently issue patta in favour of the petitioner.
2. I have heard the learned counsel on either side.
3. The competent authority for addressing the grievance of the petitioner is the District Revenue Officer, Virudhunagar. The petitioner however has neither made a representation to the District Revenue 2/5
Officer, Virudhunagar nor arrayed as a party in the present writ petition .
4. In view of the above, giving liberty to the petitioner to make of representation to the District Revenue Officer, Virudhunagar, enclosing the earlier communication in this regard and also copy of this order and shall make an application to the District Revenue Officer, Virudhunagar within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. On receipt of the said representation from the petitioner, the District Revenue Officer, Virudhunagar, shall consider the same on merits and in accordance with law, after affording an opportunity to the petitioner and pass final orders within a period of twelve weeks thereafter.
5. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
