The writ on hand has been instituted to direct the respondents 1 to 4 to forbear the fifth respondent from constructing a check dam within 300 meters upstream of the Puttur Anai, between Melaveliur and Idayapatti, allegedly in violation of the law and in the light of the fourth respondent's communication dated 25.01.2019.

2.With reference to the relief sought for in the present Writ Petition, the learned Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 to 4 would submit that the proposal for the construction of check dam has already been cancelled. Thus, the cause of action no longer exists. 3.In view of the above, this Writ Petition stands closed. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
