ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by S.M.SUBRAMANIAM, J.) The writ on hand has been instituted to direct the respondents 5 and 6 to pay the full insurance amount to 49 insured farmers of Koompallam Village, Manalmelkudi Taluk, Pudukottai District, similar to the payments made in neighbouring Villages, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 23.01.2019.

2.Insurance is a contract and a direction from the High Court to the respondents to pay the full insurance cannot be granted as such. However, the eligible insurance amounts due to the farmers are to be settled by the respondents. 3.In view of the above, the respondents are directed to verify the correctness of the insurance amounts settled in favour of the farmers, in consonance with the terms and conditions of the insurance policy. If any amount remains unsettled, the same shall be paid without causing any further delay. 3/6

4.With these observations, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
