O R D E R
The petitioner is before this Court seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing respondents 4 and 5 to consider the petitioner's representation dated 05.02.2026.
2. In the said representation, the petitioner called upon the said respondents to take action against the sixth respondent, who is allegedly carrying on wood industry activities illegally. The petitioner further states that the District Environmental Engineer, Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board, Nagercoil, had communicated to the fourth respondent that the sixth respondent was operating a temporary mill near a residential area without obtaining permission from the competent authority. The grievance of the petitioner is that the said representation has not been considered.
3. Mr. B. Saravanan, learned Additional Government Pleader, who accepts notice on behalf of respondents 4 and 5, on instructions, submitted that the petitioner's representation dated 05.02.2026 would be 3/6
considered by the fourth respondent on merits within the time frame fixed by this Court. The said submission is taken on record.
4. In view of the above, the writ petition stands disposed of with a direction to the fourth respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 05.02.2026 on its own merits and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, after providing an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and also taking into consideration the communication dated 23.02.2026 issued by the District Environmental Engineer, Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board, Nagercoil.
5. The aforesaid exercise shall be completed within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, the connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
