enjoyment of his assigned land and his occupation in the front and backyard of the said land.

ORDER

The petitioner seeks issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation, dated 07.04.2025 and rectify the incorrect subdivision of Natham S.F.No. 163/15 as S.F.No.163/22 and the handwritten word 'Pathai'. The petitioner also seeks for consequential direction to the respondents not to dispossess the petitioner to the lands assigned to him.

2. I have heard Mr.M.Anbarasan, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.M.Lingadurai, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

3. It is seen from the records that in the computer entries, there is a handwritten inclusion of the words 'Pathai' next to the Natham. It is the specific case of the petitioner that the subject lands being the natham 2/5

lands have been assigned to the petitioner as early as on 07.03.2008 and the petitioner has been in physical possession and enjoyment by paying the property tax to the Panchayat. The petitioner, on noticing the mistake/error, has sought for necessary corrections to be carried out by making representation dated 07.04.2025.

In the light of the above, it would suffice to direct the second respondent to conduct due enquiry and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law disposing the petitioner's representation dated 07.04.2025. It is made clear that until such time the second respondent passes the final orders, status quo regarding the possession shall be maintained. The second respondent shall pass orders after hearing the petitioner and all interested parties, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. Index : Yes / No NCC : Yes / No 24.04.2025 3/5
