This writ petition has been filed seeking for a direction to the 1st respondent to issue renewal of petitioner's passport, by considering petitioner's passport online application No.MD4076063650323, dated 14/12/2023 within a time limit.

2.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the 1st respondent as well as the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the 2nd respondent.

3.It is informed that three cases are pending against the petitioner in CC No.126 of 2023 on the file of the Additional Mahila Court, Nagercoil, before the Judicial Magistrate No.1, Nagercoil, in CC No.576 of 2023 and another case in SC No.219 of 2024 on the file of the Sessions Court, Tirunelveli.

4.Considering the same, there is no scope for directing the 1st respondent to renew the passport of the petitioner, which has already expired, on 13/03/2019.

5.Therefore, the writ petition is liable to be dismissed and is accordingly dismissed by giving liberty to the petitioner to move the concerned Court for appropriate relief for the first respondent to process the passport application of the petitioner. No costs.
