2. However on going through the materials on record, it is seen that the petitioner had presented the document in question for registration before the respondent. The respondent appears to have withheld the registration on the ground that the land acquisition proceedings have been initiated against the said property. If that be so, the respondent will have to issue refusal check slip so that the petitioner can challenge the same in the manner known to law. The respondent will have to communicate his stand in writing.

3. With this direction to the respondent and the direction to the petitioner to re-present the document, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
