Respondents PRAYER: Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to grant promotion to the petitioners to the post of Junior Assistant from the date on which they become eligible and grant all monetary and service benefits consequent to the same in accordance with G.O.Ms.No.189 dated 10.06.1997 within a stipulated time that may be fixed by this Court by considering the representation of the petitioners dated 11.10.2018.

ORDER

The petitioners seek for a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to grant promotion to the petitioners to the post of Junior Assistant from the date on which they become eligible and grant all monetary and service benefits in accordance with G.O.Ms.No.189 dated 10.06.1997 by considering the representation of the petitioners dated 11.10.2018, within a time frame that may be fixed by this Court.

2.Mr.R.Sethuraman, learned Special Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents. By consent, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

3.The learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that it would suffice if the representation of the petitioners is disposed of, on merits and in accordance with law, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

4.In view of the limited scope of the prayer, without going into the merits of the matter, respondents are directed to consider the representation of the petitioners, dated 11.10.2018 in accordance with law, after giving notice to the interested parties, if any, and pass appropriate orders within a period of 3 months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5.With the above direction, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
