ORDER

The petitioner seeks issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the third respondent to consider the petitioner's application dated 27.05.2024 seeking patta in the light of G.O.(Ms).No.808, Revenue Department dated 05.10.1998.

2. I have heard Mr.M.Mahaboob Athiff, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mrs.S.Jeyapriya, learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents.

3. The petitioner, being entitled to free housesite patta, has approached the third respondent and made an application for issuance of patta on 27.05.2024, taking shelter under G.O.(Ms).No.808 issued by the Revenue Department, dated 05.10.1998.

4. The grievance of the petitioner is that the third respondent has not acted upon the said representation of the petitioner and therefore, the petitioner has been constrained to approach this Court by way of this petition.

Considering the limited relief sought for in the writ petition, the writ petition is disposed of directing the third respondent Tahsildar to consider the petitioner's application dated 27.05.2024 in the light of G.O.(Ms).No.808, Revenue Department, dated 05.10.1998, after affording fair opportunity to the petitioner and pass final orders, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
