ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by N.ANAND VENKATESH,J.) This Habeas Corpus Petition has been filed for a direction to the respondents to produce the body or person of the petitioner's father, who is aged about 78 years and to set him at liberty.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing on behalf of the respondents.

3. The grievance of the petitioner is that his father is aged about 78 years and he went missing from 17.03.2026 and his whereabouts could not be ascertained. Hence, a complaint was given before the 3rd respondent, which was taken on file and a ''man missing FIR'' came to be registered in Crime No.161 of 2026. Since no effective steps were taken by the respondents to find the whereabouts of the petitioner's father, the present

petition has been filed before this Court.

4. Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of this case and the submissions made on either side, there shall be a direction to the third respondent to proceed further investigation in pending FIR in Crime No.161 of 2026 in line with the guidelines issued by this Court in K.Sukumari vs. The Superintendent of Police, Virudhunagar District, Virudhunagar and others, reported in [2018 (2) LW (Crl) 636].

5. This Habeas Corpus Petition is disposed of with the above direction.
