Respondents PRAYER : Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, for issuance of a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus calling for the records pertaining to the order passed by the 2nd respondent in Proceedings Nil dated 01.08.2018 and quash the same as illegal and consequently direct the respondents to give permission and police protection for conducting Rekla Race, which is scheduled to be conducted between Koyyanvilai and Keerivilai Junction, Kanyakumari District on 15.08.2018 at 2.30 PM in view of celebrating Birthday of Kamarajar and Independence day.

O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed challenging the order passed by the second respondent refusing to grant permission to the petitioner to conduct Rekla race.

2.A perusal of the impugned order would suggest that the Rakla race was planned to be conducted in a public road in the village. Therefore, the authority has refused permission, on the ground that the same will result in hindrance to the public transport as well as to the general public in using the road.

3.The learned Counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner will give a fresh representation to the second respondent by suggesting an alternate place for conducting Rekla race. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 4.As and when the petitioner gives a representation to that effect, the second respondent is directed to consider the same and

pass appropriate orders within a period of two weeks from thereon.
