The petitioner has filed this Contempt Petition alleging violation of the order of this Court dated 30.04.2024 passed in W.P.(MD) No.10741 of 2024, which was disposed of with the following observations: Page No. 1 of 4
This Writ Petition has been filed for a Writ of Mandamus directing the 1st respondent to grant license to the petitioner for running Saw Mill in the name and style of TGP Saw Mill situated in Re.Sy.No.168C/17A at Okkanadu Keelaiyur Village, Orathanadu Taluk, Thanjavur District.

The learned Special Government Pleader for the respondents 1 to 3, 4 & 6 would submit that the petitioner has not fully complied with the notice issued by the District Forest Officer/first respondent on 16.11.2023, wherein, the petitioner has been asked to produce a copy of the certificate from the Tamil Nadu Polution Control Board and furnish a fresh Demand Draft for Rs.5,000/-, since the period of Demand Draft that was drawn by the petitioner already got expired.
3. Per contra, the learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner has complied with the requirements of the aforesaid notices, dated 16.11.2023, however, no documents were filed in the typed set of papers along with this Writ Petition.

Be that as it may, I see no impediment in directing the respondent to consider the application filed by the petitioner as prayed for, subject to the petitioner complying with the requirements of the notice, dated 16.11.2023 of the first respondent. In case, the petitioner has already complied with the aforesaid requirements of the first respondent, the first respondent shall proceed to consider the grant of license to the petitioner in the name and style of 'TGP Saw Mill' within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. Pending consideration of the petitioner's representation, the running of Saw Mill of the petitioner shall not be disturbed. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is disposed of, with above observations. No costs. Page No. 2 of 4
Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
2. It is the case of the petitioner that the aforesaid order has been violated. However, it is noted that, pursuant to the direction of this Court dated 30.04.2024 in W.P.(MD) No.10741 of 2024, an order was passed by the respondent on 03.06.2025, wherein the petitioner's request for grant of a sawmill licence based on prior establishment was rejected, with liberty to the petitioner to submit a fresh application for grant of sawmill licence, which shall be subject to completion of the wood balance study and receipt of appropriate Government Orders.
